as long as it's actually about your blood then you should be fine.
Consider your petition signed by me, as well. Thanks, ck!

CK should be taken on by Admin. to delete the vague topics and re-title them all. AND aphalbetize them too. Or, start a new board.

I so agree this is great idea, anyway to just get Rob to put it at the top of the page so you are reminded everytime. So so needs to be done!
I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

Thank you for pointing that out Robb. What would we have done without that great post? Thanks again.

Not so much of a "rule" as a common courtesy.
I'm personally sick of non-descript threads. I often miss the best stuff.

hhhhhmmmmmmm.....i keep flashing back to Monica Geller asking her party guests to put the tops of the pens back on the markers while playing "Madlibs." Tightly. Until they click.
Alex, i'll take "Control Issues" for $100.

I think I can safely take the blame for this thread, thankfully the controversial thread is drifting slowly down the board.
However, I think that to truly feel the brunt of a controversial thread, I need to post about Bush. On a thread titled "OMG I TOTALLY LIKE HEART WICKED SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!

Non-descriptive thread subject lines are certainly annoying, but many other elements of thread posting may be even more annoying.
Where do you draw the line once you starting setting rules for how the thread should be formatted? For example,
A "no pictures in post" rule would certainly eliminate the need for Moderators to monitor abuses of the privilege of posting pictures, as well as reduce incoming PMs complaining about inappropriate pictures.
A "no signature more than 2 lines" would certainly shorten the length of individual threads.
A "no celebrity/bare skin avatar" would certainly help to eliminate confusion as to who is really behind the screen name.
The list of where rules can be implemented is pretty long. But do we really need them?
I agree with your sentiments about the annonyance created vague thread titles, but a policy should exist only if it's needed. In my opinion, the example you cite isn't crying out for a policy. As in life, some people are courteous and others not.
A looser place to post makes this a more fun place to post and to read.

My post is only a request for those who care to follow. But let me say that seemingly advocating a seperate message board because you are frustrated with so-called 'BroadwayWorldKids' not creating a looser place to post.
Interesting double standard.

Creating different and appropriate environments for people to post their messages is not a double standard, in my opinion. Particularly when members are asking for that option. But then again my signature quote is only one line, and I don't use it to advertise. Different strokes, ckeaton.

speaking of which: what are the hard and fast rules when it comes to "appropriate" and "inappropriate" photos? seems to me: female cleavage = okay, any form of male skin (tasteful - no naughty bits, etc.) = land of deletion...
it might make your job easier if there were some standards that people could make sense of with respect to the avatars and/or posts, right?

Amen. This is the worst board I visit with regards to having appropriate subject titles. But, I have no where else to go, so I'm here. Over at the TWoP boards, they are vigilant with this rule and I must say it makes life alot easier. That board is heavily moderated though, whereas this board is not - so really, it's just a courtesy we're asking for.
And don't you think this is working well? Not (see the current posts at the top of this board).

"There are getting to be so many "rules" here...I hope I remember them all!"
So many rules? Like Madame X said, you haven't experienced strict message boards until you've been at Television Without Pity. No avatars, no signatures, no pictures. People are required to use proper grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation in every post. Every single post must be on topic established at the beginning of the thread, no extraneous thread topics, no duplicate thread topics, no Off-Topic boards. No flaming, no insulting other posters. The mods are vigilant, you will be warned/banned if you disobey any of these rules.
It's wonderful.
So the ckeaton's request to have appropritate subject names is completely legitimate and definitely not too much for people to handle.

What? Where? The only rule I think we have is that theater talk goes on the main board and everything else is off-topic. I'd love to know what these other "rules" are b/c I'm sure we've all been violating them.
