TONIGHT (Weds., May 23). If you've thought about going to see the Spree but are on the fence, GO! Tonight at Webster Hall they're recording the show for a live record/concert film. I haven't seen them live in eight years (when they opened for Bowie), but I saw them last night and am happy to report they're still as goofily lovable as ever, creating a theatrical communal experience that's like taking an endorphin shower.
I'll attach an oldie but goodie...

I didn't know they were still together. I thought they went the way of The Starland Vocal Band.

Nope, they took a few years off. But they're back. It's gotta cost a lot of money to run that band.
Wish I could!
I saw Garbage there last night and had forgotten how much I missed them.

Garbage sold out in an instant before I snagged a ticket and I don't really care I hate them they're stupid I didn't want to see their stinking show anyways, he said, petulantly.
They did for me too, and I bit my lip and bought heavily inflated tickets on stub hub because I missed seeing them twice when I was in college (Version 2.0 time) and I was making up for lost time. After two not-so-great albums, the new one actually is pretty good, I have to say.
Wish I could go. Love them!
