Georgia Brown by way of Frank Sinatra by way of Bobby Darin. That was raw music hall sound?!! It has a very lounge lizard/cocktail hour jazzy cabaret style to it. I needed a martini to go with it, and that's not to say it was bad. Georgia Brown is without a doubt a great vocalist and her rendition is very nice, but it's not definitive, not by a long shot.
NeeeeeeXXt......!
If you want a real earthy, raw, Berlin cabaret sound, Ute Lemper is not definitive but she is certainly, as Reginald Tresilian would say, "a thing." No matter how you may dislike it, stay till the final note:

What's with Richard Crenna and this number? He starred with Julie in Star and is in this number with Lynn, and he's hardly the first person one thinks of - or for that matter the 800th - when contemplating the musical theater. Does he have some kind of weird Lady in the Dark fetish?
