Posted: 3/22/05 at 1:25amI gotta disagree with you there. I thought she was great on Broadway's Leading Ladies and her recent return to Dreamgirls in 2002 in Atlanta was vocally better than Lilias in the 2001 concert, though Lilias can act circles around Jennifer. I love them both, but in terms of the Effie White role Jennifer is tops.

"On the Broadway side, does anyone think Terrance Mann (who I love) is the poor version of Tim Curry (who I also love)?"

Is Jessica Simpson the poor man's Britney Spears?
Is "Joey" the poor man's "Friends"?
Is the "Daily News" the poor man's "NYTimes"?
Was "Growing Pains" the poor man's "Family Ties"?

Posted: 3/22/05 at 2:09pmCurry was never the dancer Mann was, but as Mann has transitioned into character and older leading man roles, they have some similarities.

I guess Sing is the poor man's Sister Act (at least according to a lot of posters on the board)
There's a guy who is the poor man's version of William H. Macy, but I'm not sure of his name. I always just say - he's like William H Macy.
I would go with Amanda Peet (who I really dislike) is the poor man's Ashley Judd.
