So this young woman (18 I think) was in a horrible auto accident.
It made news b/c she had some problems and was using cocaine at the time of her accident.
She crashed into median and slammed into a concrete wall at 100mph.
Now, the police officers have leaked several photos of the crime scene. They are beyond horrible. In fact, I'm not even going to link them here, but they are easy to find with google.
The police say they intended to show them to friends and family as a warning of driving on drugs.
But now everyone can see them and the family has to deal with this.
So, my question is: should someone be held accountable for the leak? If someone happened by with a cell phone they could have done the same thing. It's not illegal (I don't think).
But beyond breaking police procedure (which they obviously did) should these police be punished for a moral lapse in judgment?
Or is it acceptable to post photos of horrific events in the public domain?
Curious as to your thoughts.
