This is a gorgeous video that I found.
Please support this video--rate it, fave it, comment, share it.
The homophobes on YouTube have been waging war on the NO vids, including mine. If you think the internet is a good battlefield, then go support the NO vids. Doing all of the above helps them make the honor lists and get seen by more and more people.
It's just one thing we CAN do with no effort.

California Clergy Urge You to Vote No on Prop 8

The fact that the YES supporters have dared to claim that Prop 8 infringes on their rights and freedoms is ASTOUNDING. And it's based on the two issues above.

Watching the California Clergy really got to me. That I think so far is one of the most powerful ones yet.

And the Big Dog speaks. Perhaps this is his way of atoning for some of the decisions and compromises he made as President:
"President Bill Clinton Asks California Voters To Vote NO on Proposition 8
Tells Voters Prop 8: "Not What America is About"
SACRAMENTO – In a telephone call to California voters, President Clinton delivers the following message regarding the unfairness of Proposition 8:
"This is Bill Clinton calling to ask you to vote NO on Proposition 8 on Tuesday, November 4th. Proposition 8 would use state law to single out one group of Californians to be treated differently -- discriminating against members of our family, our friends and our co-workers.
"If I know one thing about California, I know that is not what you're about. That is not what America is about. Please vote NO on 8. It's unfair and it's wrong. Thank you."
The calls from President Clinton went to millions of registered California voters overnight."

I put a 'No on Prop 8' sign in our yard, and not only was it removed, but they trampled and destroyed most of the bushes in our yard - as well as leaving a sign of their own that said, "All fags should die."
I'll not be doing anything else.
Except staying inside, and trying to ignore the world in which I live.
Q - I am so sorry.
I hope you reported it.
And don't ignore the world - there are more good than bad out there - the bad just get a lot more attention.

I try to remember, YWIW, I really do. It's just that we are literally surrounded. Because we're on a corner lot, there are 6 houses that are either adjacent or across the street. Of those 6, 5 have 'Yes on 8' signs in their yards. One of them even has 2, so as to cover both streets his property borders. Just to reach our house from the entrance to the subdivision - which is only 2 blocks - I am now passing 19 'Yes' signs (up from 14 about a week ago.)
It's never really been a problem for us here - we really only interact with 2 people in the neighborhood on a semi-regular basis. But this election cycle has things all stirred up - and this issue has captured the public's attention, at least out where we are.
There was a rally on a major corner last night, and I sat and watched literally almost EVERY car honk, wave and cheer for the 'Yes' protesters.
Change is coming Q, and no matter how many signs are trampled the force of forward momentum can not be turned back.

I believe that, Taz, I really do. I just hope I survive long enough to see it happen.
No matter how tough a shell I've managed to cobble together, I'm still a pretty emotionally fragile fellow - the adult version of the child who was almost killed by his step-father simply because he was gay.
I TRY to go about my business, affect change where I can, and keep focussed on the beauty of the world. But, as I said earlier, this cycle has brought things to a head around me, and I can't seem to shake the influence.
Well, it's certainly understandable that this would bring up all sorts of emotions for you.
But every night you go to sleep next to your beloved and all the hate in the world and your past can take that joy from you.
So in the end you have the last laugh my friend.

I keep that in mind! So, as soon as the 'beloved one' gets home safely and we have all the doors locked, I'll be laughing my ass off.
But that's mostly because of what I'll find in bed
Q - I've been reading your posts on this and I'm sitting here in my cozy little dump in Virginia, crying my eyes out. (Is the Tinman home yet?)
As I read, the word Kristallnacht kept coming to mind. These good, Christian souls can't see that their thoughts and actions are no different than those of the Nazis.
Will we never learn?
Q - three things:
1. Our friends who live in LaCanada are voting No.
2. My cousins who live in Palos Verdes and Tustin are voting No.
3. J2 and I love you.
Q- I'm SO sorry you have to go through that daily. You really should report it.
The Yes people are full of so much hate and fear and desperation. It's very similar to the McCain folks. They have taken the lowest road because that's all they have left.
What's even sadder is that most of the Yes people claim to be speaking and acting on behalf of Jesus when, in fact, there is nothing "Christians" about what they have been saying or doing.
It's going to get ugly before it ends. But that's part of the process sadly.
And what does it truly say about their side? About where things truly stand? About the inevitable direction of this great nation?
That we are winning.
When you are confident with who you are or what you have to say, you can speak from a place of calm and respect. At worst, a place of passionate, righteous anger, but on the higher road.
When you are losing. When you are insecure. When you are grasping at straws. At anything. That's when you say vile, nasty, hateful cruel things to people. That's when you trample bushes and put hateful signs in people's yards. Steal their signs because you can't bare it. Can't control yourself. Can't think straight.
We will win this. We know we are right. We speak from truth and fairness and everything this great nation is supposed to stand for. We are smart enough to see history repeating itself.
Protect yourself. Take a stand where you can. But be strong and have faith.
Even if Prop 8 wins, I think we are about to see this issue explode. And progress is inevitable.
