Anyone else watching on Lifetime now? I love it, and poor bobby!
I recorded it and just started watching it. I'll probably end up crying my eyes out.
I just finished watching it. I haven't cried this much from a made for tv movie, or really any movie, ever! SO sad, but so touching. And I love Sigourney Weaver.

This movie could have been my life story, SO grateful it wasn't. I can't wait to watch it, just missed the premiere, but they are showing it again right after.

I'm SO frustrated that I don't get Lifetime here at school (we don't have cable so I only get a few basic channels through digital rabit ears). I REALLY wanted to see this movie, it looks so good!!
The ONLY thing is, while the movie itself looked fantastic from the previews I saw, the previews themselves were... pretty cheesy. But, then again, it IS Lifetime haha. But yeah, DEFINITELY need to see it somehow. It looks so incredibly poignant.
It's hard to watch. It's so crazy to me that people still think that way. Especially a mother. I'll never really understand it.

Another good movie/documentary for family members to see is:
For the Bible Tells Me So
And soulforce.org for resources.
I missed it and forgot to set up the DVR to record it, but judging from the trailers it looked like a very well-made film. Any chance of it repeating or going out on DVD?

Great, thank you! (:

It's a very powerful story. I'm kind of glad it was made into a Lifetime movie.
Well, I don't like Sigourney Weaver, but I do want to see the movie. I just set the DVR to record it tonight.
Being as how our hearts are about as soft as cashew brittle, it's not often that something comes along that warms us up enough to tease a gentle "Awwww..." from our lips.
But when actor Scott Bailey's publicist sent us an essay that he'd written about his experience playing the boyfriend of Bobby Griffith in the true-life tearjerker Prayers for Bobby, that's pretty much what happened.
I was originally going to excerpt the essay here for you to read, but I'm actually posting it in its entirety below, because it's kinda too precious for words.
A straight actor's gay education: Scott Bailey on his "Prayers for Bobby" experience
Awww, that made me cry. And he's HAWT!
That made me like that man just a WEE bit more :)
Missed it, but will be sure to catch it. Looks fabulous! Loved the essay - so inspiring. I especially loved this line by one of the commenters "I may be straight, but I'm not narrow."
And oh yeah, he is HAWT!!!! I give him two nipples up!

I had two friends in it. It was an amazing movie.
I watched it thinking it would be kinda silly and sappy, and I was wrong. It is really well done and S.W. is so great that her performance keeps the show from being fluff. I cried so much, as soon as it was over I had to run out to a gay bar and go dancing with friends!
I'm not a big Lifetime movie fan, but I decided to record it after seeing Sigourney Weaver on The View. About half-way through the tears started (I'm usually not a cryer) and I continued to cry pretty much to the end. Great movie.
It was a good story. Technically I question the director's choice of the horror film transitions in places. I know the speeded up segments and staccato image advancements are all the rage but I found it distracting and a bit annoying at times.
