I guess it's STILL speculation. The masses are getting too anxious, right???

The naive part of me really hopes that the plane was in fact hijacked and was landed on some deserted runway and the passengers are still alive. But I know that is insane wishful thinking. I'm hoping that if it did go down, it was quick and painless.

What I don't understand is the fact that they are reporting that there have been "pings" on radar for days now. How have they JUST started searching the Indian ocean area?
