The Laurents' presence also casts a heavy shadow over Gypsy. The Roses that have been universally praised, Tony included, were directed by him. Will someone ever win a Tony for the part that was not directed by the author? Surprised she hasn't tried to play Velma on Broadway or returned to Hamilton."There were rumors persisting DeBose and Schmigadoonco-star Jane Krakowski were going to re-open CHICAGO after the pandemic. Not sure if it was just online gossip, but I know a few people who purchased tickets before the casting announcement in the hopes/anticipation.Speaking ofSchmigadoon, it's interesting (or typi...

Fred Mason said: "She also workshopped Kiss of the Spiderwoman a few years ago, I wonder if she could be doing it at City Center, is it the same creative team that did the workshop?"She may be a much better fit for Aurora than Charity, yet she lacks the terrifying presence that is also needed for parts of the show. She needs much more experience to tackle more complex roles.

There really isn’t much competition to argue for. The rest of the films and performances nominated were fine but forgettable."The thing is that winning an Oscar doesn't make you a fit for any role that comes your way. She didn't become a more versatile performer when she won.

Dear World is Herman’s best show

Fred Mason said: "Well you missed out because Donna Murphy was sensational. She gave a Tony Award worthy performance, it was extraordinary, the way she sang and acted each song, I Don’t Want To Know, Kiss Her Now, Each Tomorrow Morning, Through the Bottom of the Glass, and that patter song tea party in act 2. Oh how I wish it transferred to Broadway. That big lush orchestra, the choreo, costumes, everything about it was truly perfect. "You're just a groupie, it's nowhere close to his best.
