That CNN article I linked cited no cause of death but other sources are mentioning she was battling kidney failure.
She abandoned her show business career in the 1990's and embraced the Christian faith and was an Evangelist.

She never fully recovered from her crack addiction and resulting liver issues in the '90s. RIP
