Public nudity - yes or no? — Page 2

I'd move this up to number 1.

I think there should be a separation of public space and private space. I don't want to see you naked next to me on the bus for the same reason I dont' want to watch you clip your toenails or defecate. Or listen to your phone conversation, for that matter, but that's a different topic.

Send me a Microsoft Outlook invitation telling me when and where I'm allowed to be naked. I promise I'll follow your instructions.
But, seriously, this explains why I see so many ohtos on teh internet of naked men on the shore by the Golden Gate Bridge.
I mean I have it on good authority that there are many photos on the internet of naked men on the shore...
Oh, never mind.

I'm still going to wear my jockstrap from Powerhouse to Hole in the Wall, just because I can.

I don't get who's pushing for the law. It hasn't seemed to have caused a problem in SF, despite changing demographics, for a long, long time. I know there were recently complaints about nudity in eating establishments--and I think a rule about needing to use a towel when sitting somewhere, but...

Absolutely...if you are going to sit anywhere you have to put a towel under your butt. That is actually being followed by the guys in the Castro who regularly hang out naked.

A thong is appropriate, as a jock is not. Some chaps have a piece of material between the cheeks.
The bartenders at 440 say it's a health violation for them to wear jocks behind the bar because the anus is exposed, while bartenders every where else don't care. Or don't know. (But they probably don't care either.)

I've never been to SF and did google the map, which didn't quite make sense in the light of the other comments but I decided to post anyway.
Reginald Tresilian keeps trying to persuade me to revisit New York but I can see that San Francisco beckons.
"In order to get to that beach you need to be part mountain goat"
I can definitely oblige on that.

But seeing this guy is worth it.
(He's a dear friend and I don't think he'd mind me sharing this photo with all of you.)

Part of the fun - for me - is planning a visit to coincide with one of these crazy street fairs or events. I have attended the Bay to Breakers (which has a Bare to Breakers contingent - yes naked runners), the Love-fest, Folsom Street Fair, etc
On my recent visit I saw Beach Blanket Babylon (think Forbidden Broadway with BIG hair and giant headpieces) and Hal Sparks at Yoshi's.
I've been to the beach we are discussing. It is a hike down but the views are spectacular and it is just fun being right there with the Golden Gate Bridge...however, I was also recently warned about going into the water because they have been monitoring the 'visitors' patrolling the water just off the coast. They are 'great', 'white', have lots of teeth and their own theme music. Is it true? Not sure but whenever I've been there the water is not only VERY cold but also rough. The wind is also a bit of a turn off to think coming out of the water. It is just a fun afternoon to hike down and enjoy...nature! Yes - nature.

Scripps, want to meet on the Golden Gate Brige?

Speaking of things to do...
My hotel near the Golden Gate Park has been booked for a year for the bluegrass festival. People are already booking rooms for next years event.
CRAZY! But I wouldn't have it any other way. I <3 my city.

Yes. You bring the camera (make sure it's got a good zoom) and I'll bring the binoculars.
"the water is... VERY cold"
Then I guess the photographs I've seen, or rather, my friend has seen must have been taken before the guys went for a swim.
"I don't think he'd mind me sharing this photo with all of you"
Please feel free to share the one that was taken thirty seconds later. The mods aren't as diligent as they used to be.

It is like Un dimanche après-midi à l'Île de la Grande Jatte in as much that it has two focal points.
