So I have an 80 GB macbook (I know, I need a new one) that's three years old now and it says I only have 1 GB available which I just can't understand since the only thing I really have on here is my iTunes which is 27GB and pictures which isn't that much either. I'm not the most computer savvy person on earth so maybe there's a lot more taking up all that other memory but hell if I can find it. I've heard people talk about Mac's having a lot of inactive memory taking up space but I don't know where to find that or what I should do. Does anyone have any advice, because it's running damn slow and it's pissing me off.
Thank you!

I think you're confusing RAM and disk space.

Open a Finder window, right click on Macintosh HD on the left under Devices, and click Get Info. That will tell you your total capacity as well as available disk space on your hard drive.
