The volume button on my taskbar at the bottom of my screen disappeared -- I have no idea how I managed to do that! The battery button (it's a laptop) and the internet button are still there. Any idea how to put it back??
Thanks!

Jason, I do not know but this reminds me:
Put 'em back the way they wuz!
Put 'em back [put em back]
The way they wuz [the way they wuz]
oh, put 'em back the way they wuz!
Maybe restarting your computer would help, or going into the start menu into the volume control? Other than those two ideas, I have no idea.
Tried both of those...I can adjust volume using Start, but the quick button is gone.
Thanks for the Li'l Abner reference -- doesn't help, but it made me smile.

Jason, did you try to right click on the tool bar and see if there are options to add or subract buttons?
You are welcome for the reference. One of my favorite shows!

I find that sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not. Same with the icon showing my wireless connection. Sometimes is there and sometimes it's not. I hated Vista with a passion when I got it. Now I'm over it. I'm not sure if it's because it's gotten better or if I've just given up.
Have you tried right clicking on your Taskbar, clicking Properties, and then clicking Notification Area to make sure the "Volume" box is ticked under System Icons?
I don't understand the Vista hate. The only thing that annoyed be is that my TEMP files wouldn't show up but now they do. I have no idea why.

Dude just invest in a MAC and go from there.
I did all that and the volume button was actually grayed out. I had to restart twice, and then the button was available for me to click.
Thanks for the help...
I have had something similar happen to me, where I would restart and my volume would not work, so I would have to restart again. I ended up just updating the driver and things worked fine.
