Some of you may remember her as Iris in "Another World"/"Texas", and Alexandra in "Guiding Light". I will never forget that marvelous voice, which, as Michael Logan put it, "(dripped) equal parts honey and cyanide."

She'll truly be missed. She was brilliant as Iris. I wasn't as fond of her as Alexandra (I prefer Marj Dusay) but I still watched every day to watch her beautiful evil.
Very sad.
This really is sad. And very strange timing... I just recently found the old episodes of Texas on AOL video and I've been eagerly watching two or three at a time each evening. I had just seen the last one prior to Iris and Alex's wedding when they suddenly stopped playing. I've tried everything I can think of but none of the others episodes will play. I managed to catch a few later in the run of the series (I adored Daniel Davis' Eliot Carrington) but I'd give an arm to see the whole thing. Primarily to see what that beautiful queen of the witches was up to! Texas started really slow and then built up quite a following when it suddenly took a nose dive in the ratings and was cancelled. The reason? Beverlee McKinsey had decided to leave the show. She was really incredible.
Loved her as Iris Carrington. So classy; yet such a bitch.
Very, very sad. When she joined "Guiding Light" in 1984, as Alexandra Spaulding, I was hooked. A brilliant actress and an extremely elegant, classy lady.
She will be missed.
I found a couple interesting pics of Beverlee. This first one is a photo from a 60's production of Virginia Wolfe. The photo shows Uta Hagen, Arthur Hill, Beverlee, and Richard Easton. I don't know where this was done:
And this is an almost unrecognizable Beverlee guest starring in Hawaii Five-O in '69:
Mamie, Beverlee played Honey in the original London production of WAOVW. Of course the original Honey was the lady standing to the left in the sable coat. I adored both Sandy and Beverlee, who were taken from us much too soon.
Thank you for the information.
I'm sitting here kicking myself for not having included Sandy in the "Passing Angels" thread. For the life of me I can't figure out how I missed her. She was an incredible actress and it's an unforgiveable oversight.
