I was just curious to see if there were any fans of the band Relient K {they are a Christian punk rock band}. They are not a well known group, but they are slowly growing in status. I know that pretty soon they are going to be well known, and I've loved them forever.

I wanted to see if there were fans... and if so, how long have you been a fan? Have you seen them live? What is your favorite song? Who is your favorite bandmate?

Happy chats ~kangaroo

I've only heard "Sadie Hawkins Dance." That song is pretty catchy.

Relient K are local boys. I was at a party once and they were playing in the kitchen. Seriously. Glad they've done well, mainly because they aren't blocking the fridge anymore.

I'm a huge fan of Relient K. I've seen them in concert a few times (good ole' youth group trips, LOL). My favorite song of theirs is "Failure to Excommunicate".

I'm really loving their recent album "Mmhmm"!

I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)

Geez, I feel old:

When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was about the Relient K cars made by Chrysler in the 70's. No one was a fan of those!

Wonder what flavor jello we're having at the home today.......

exactly... I think it's great

I love mmhmm. It actually took me a while to get used to though, because I was expecting a CD more fun. It is much more serious, and mature... but I love it a lot!

ya, I heard about them about 2 years ago...really gotta love those guys. Saw them in concert once, and hung out with them for a bit after the show. Gotta say the best songs are "Mood Rings" and "College Kids." (Ain't the college song the truth.)

I think my favorite fun song is "Gibberish", though I love all the songs you guys have mentioned.

And I also love as a normal favorite "Getting into you"... it's such a beautiful song

I was obsessed with Relient K for like 2 months this summer and then it wore off. And then out of nowhere, their new CD came out. I bought it and was a little dissappointed because it's not like the others...It's more mature-not what I was expecting from Relient K. It's like all of the other gagillion songs that other "rock" groups are writing. For the first time, I don't like the last song on the CD, When I Go Down. I loved "Jefferson Aeroplane" (ah, one of my favorite songs) and Less is More. I actually listened to some Relient K songs on my iPod today for the first time in months on the way to our One-Act competition. It's good to know there are Relient K fans on this board. kangaroo, you've scored points with me for this topic.

If it was... maybe... but I understood it completely. That is exactly how I felt about the CD. But I honestly gradually learned to love it... but it took a while. I was expecting something more fun, or at least a song or two that were fun to listen to... but this CD was different. And I was so excited for it to come out, maybe my expectations were too high. Still, the CD is great... I wouldn't discourage anyone from buying it, but I think Two Lefts Don't Make a Right, but Three Do is still my favorite Cd.

I am excited for them because they are being played on regular radio stations... parks, did you hear that one of the Relient K bandmates left?

Wow! I never expected a thread like this. That's cool. I like Relient K. I first heard of them when I started working for Family. They've got some great song, and my fav is Pressing On.
