I belonged to a RENT forum once. And it was sort of boring. Only because I dared not to venture into the realm of RP.

I just can't get into that kind of stuff. However, if I have to write up a script and do character analysises... I'm completely fine.

You know what's really funny, though? Rocky Horror fanfic. I've only read a few in my whole lifetime, but they were hilarious... and poorly written. Thus adding to their hilarity.

Although, it's actually SantaNorbertEmceeAsRoger and there is an entire story about him that I created. I'd share it, but this isn't the place.

What's so shameful about fanfic? If you know where to look, some of it can be quite good. You have to learn to separate the gems from the dross (which is, admittedly, most of what gets written.)

But the Harry Potter fandom absolutely terrifies me. I'll read HP stories if they're by people I know, but I won't go looking for the stuff. But the worst story of that variety that I ever read was, thankfully, horrible on purpose. And hilarious.

Oh, and one of the keys to finding good fic- stay far, far away from fandoms dominated by teenagers. If you want good writing, go where the grown-ups are. *shrug* It's sad, but true.
