Can we PLEASE quit this stupid old school e-mail habit?
I don't get using it now, and I didn't get it five years ago.

Posted: 11/13/06 at 5:16pmPeople aren't doing it. For some reason, the second post comes up as the subject title if it's posted at a certain time. I'll demonstrate with the Thoreau thread.

Posted: 11/13/06 at 5:16pmare you talking about the preponderance of threads on the front page that have the "re:" in the title?

Cute avatar, papa.
To answer your question, yes, I'm talking about the RE: in the title. If the "RE:" stands for reply, that makes perfect sense.
But not in a the "regarding:" way.

Posted: 11/13/06 at 5:18pmYeah, it is not us. I started a thread about Miss Saigon and when I went back to check it, it said "re" in front of it!

Posted: 11/13/06 at 5:21pmit's not intentional, fw. due to a glitch, occasionally the 1st person who responds to a thread gains control of the subject line that is posted on the front page. the re: is automatic and makes sense for all posts the follow in a normal thread. however, since the glitch puts that 1st post in control, the 1st reponder's title with the automatic re: gets top billing.

It must have something to do with the site speed slowing to a crawl.
I say blame it on Bush.
