I have sad news to report. After his single-engine plane crashed in CA, composer James Horner is presumed dead. He is currently missing and relatives believe he was on the plane, although it has not yet been confirmed.
Thoughts and prayers to all families involved in the crash.

I'm a huge fan, starting with "The Perfect Storm" score, haunting, evocative, beautiful. But he wrote so many. His body of work is extraordinary. Many films under the radar. And he always brought his A game. Listen to his work on "Mighty Joe Young," a minor Disney effort no one remembers. As wonderful as "Lion King," and the last track ("Windsong," ima wimbo) transcendent.

Really sad news to wake up to. I was a big fan too. I wore out my cassette tape of the Aliens soundtrack back in 1986.

There's no need for the question mark anymore.
