Not to assign you extra homework, dramamama, but you might want to examine the concept of white privilege in the United States. Unless of course you really do use Rogers and Hammerstein as the backbone of your serious political analysis?

i guess everything is open to interpertation, and god knows on govt forms there are like 10 races listed, but i would say even the most liberal would consider it a religion.

Actually, recently I saw an interview with Levar Burton where he schooled his son on how to behave if pulled over by the police so that he wouldn't get shot. I'll see if I can find it.

There you go again, Reg, building bridges with your nuance! Seriously, that was what I was getting at and why I specified in the US, you can't be born white in this culture without being awash in white privlege, much to Jim Colyer's rabid disbelief.

Here's a PBS lesson plan -- Examining White Privilege -- from 2003, that's suitable for grades 7-12 and above. I encourage people who have never confronted this idea in their lives to give it a whirl. The more people who fearlessly examine this, the fewer the number of white people on reality shows like the Real World crying and saying, "But y'alll, I just didn't know colored people don't like to be called colored people. Nobody told me! I am so hurt that nobody told me!!!"

Perhaps not, sue, but your purported native country did a fine job of subjugating Siberians, the peoples of the Baltics and Ukraine, and many others.

None of us needs to ride a high horse when it comes to historical racism.

I apologize, Sue. I thought I read elsewhere that you are ethnically Russian. Are you Ukrainian instead? If so, your people have their own forms of racism, but my post above does not apply.
