Anyone have a favorite (or two or three) foreign film(s)?
I'm partial to "Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!" "Artemisia" and "The Dreamers."
Anyone seen "Bad Education" or "The Motorcycle Diaries?" Any comments?

Bad Education was great. Motorcycle Diaries put me to sleep.

Tango and Devdas are my faves, although I really want to buy a copy of Eat, Drink, Man, Woman. God, that movie is good.

Pauline and Paulette is a wonderful film, and 8 Women is stunningly beautiful. The Tin Drum is really disturbing - but definately worth a look. And for good measure - Amarcorc, Belle du Jour and Das Boot.

That's one of my all-time favorite movies, StraightBoy.
AMELIE is perhaps the most charming movie ever made.
I really liked BAD EDUCATION - it was quite refreshing to have Aldomovar deal mainly with male characters, and knee-numbingly hot ones at that - but ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER is his masterpiece.
CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON is another favourite.
A great Canadian film you guys should check out is ATANAJUAT: THE FAST RUNNER, which is the first Inuit movie ever made. It's a beautifully-shot epic with a story worthy of Homeric myth.
