I don't mind reality shows that show the life of someone (Nick and Jessica, Ashlee Simpson, Osbournes), but the competition ones are really stupid (except American Idol, lol). For example, all the dating/marriage ones are really stupid. Narrow down from a group of people who you want to marry? Please... I also don't like how reality shows start playing around with plastic surgery...too many!

Posted: 12/29/04 at 12:50amIm with Millie. I watch shows like real world and Newly Weds, but shows like The Swan and Survivor make me sick. I think they are just horrible messages being sent to the youth of America.

Plus, I hate those wanabee reality shows that are rip offs of the actual show.
One of them I remember is WB's Next Big Superstar, which is an American Idol rip off. They lied to bad singers and told them they were actually good. They put them through this competition, made complete fools of themselves, and told them at the end they sucked. Yes, it was hilarious, but the part I hated was they made it too much like American Idol: they had the black judge with sunglasses who said "Dawg" too much (like Randy), the nice lady sitting in the middle (like Paula Abdul), and the hard to please guy (Simon Cowell). Another example is the Bachelor: they have too many rip offs of that show, like Joe Millionaire for instance.

PROJECT RUNWAY on Bravo is about to trump The Apprentice as my favorite reality TV series. At least the judgment at the end of each episode is based on merit.
I'll be sad next week when I no longer have access to Bravo.
