But if this is true, what will the Republican buffoons use for ammunition against commie Obama?
Is recession coming to an end?
if it is true, all the nuts and pundits on Fox will be claiming that the prez had nothing to do with ending the recession. The country will have just righted itself automatically. All it needed was some time to get things moving again. Then they will blast Obama for all that overspending which clearly had nothing to do with getting us out of recession.

No Pippin- they will claim the recession was PROLONGED by Obama's actions.
true. true.
I can just hear Scarborough now.
They've already set this up by criticizing Roosevelt's New Deal, which they say prolonged the Depression.
And because of the size of the bailouts and the continued government involvement in business, they'll continue to call him a "socialist" and campaign on the "erosion of personal liberty."
That's what they'll do. Whether anyone will believe them or not is another story...
i think they'll use the predicted 11% unemployment. i myself will be going into the wayback machine and pulling up thread after thread posted by folks here over the last few years decrying much better economic numbers as the worst numbers ever to face a country anywhere in the galaxy. don't even get me started on the deficits. whoo-boy!
I don't know what the specific parameters are that define a recession, so I don't know if or when it's fair to say that we're on our way out. I do know, however, that the stock market tends to lead the way, so the big jumps there over the last six to eight weeks are certainly a good sign. Unfortunately, unemployment tends to be the last piece of the economy to come around, so it will probably take some time before that starts to drop.
the technical answer, mb, would be two or more quarters of consecutive growth since the definition of a recession is two or more quarters of consecutive constriction. given that definition, we may be improving but the recession will continue until well into 2010. according to the congrssional budget office's report back in 2008 february, it should have recovered to 1-2% growth by that time. that was of course prior to barry's ghetto cash machines plan of flooding his supporters with cash redistributed from hard-working americans via the tax system and hoping they don't misuse it and that it somehow stimulates the economy while destroying any incentive to work or invest.

And that coincides with the Republican governors and members of congress deriding the need for any sort of stimulus, taking the money anyway, then taking the credit for the projects it suported, right?
you mean politics 101?
Something tells me the only 400,000 plus who lost their jobs last month do not think so.
