Recommendations for anit-malware software?

Hi - I just had to help my brother rebuild his computer after some virus or malware infected it -- Tango something. He had Trend Micro anti-virus software, but it didn't catch this one.

Can anyone recommend a good anti-malware program to install that would work with his Trend Micro?

I LOVE Ghostery. LOVE it.

Although it might just be about stopping trackers. But MAN does it stop trackers from tracking you!

Thanks all. I had to reinstall Windows, drivers, etc. -- twice -- after which I needed a stiff drink, LOL.

I have installed Malwarebytes and decided to try Avast. Fingers crossed.
