I have a record collection of 3,500 titles ranging from classical to pop to rock to country to blues to jazz and beyond.

I'm trying to sell them either as a huge collection or in lots according to genre. But I'm looking to get rid of them within 6 months or less and make the most money doing it.

Any record stores in NY people know of that buys used records?

Advice on selling them?

Thanks!!

For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Colony will give you peanuts & sell them for exorbitant prices

You are better off on either e bay or check local papers for ads of those willing to buy old records or put in an ad yourself

ebay all the way, baby. you'll do very well and it's so simple.

never sell to someone who's going to sell them (a record store) because they're never going to give you the most because they want to make a profit.

sell to the people who want them and will keep and treasure them and they'll dish out the cash.

roxy is right on the money here.......sell them on EBAY, yes it's time-consuming, but you will make a small fortune.
Vinyl is very in now

It's over 3,500 records. Definitely no time to sell individually. Perhaps in one lot, or on mini lots according to genre.

In the 1980's the collection was appraised at $10,000. So we want at least $10,000 for the collection.

yes, do ebay. i sold tons of gorgeous opera recordings to academy for several hundred dollars years ago when i was casse! and i was just ripped off. and...i will never ever buy from colony again. even if i am desperate. $40 for an ordinary cast album --i kid you not.
