How about a substitute for the garlic?
yeah, maybe sauteed garlic, fresh would kill me, but otherwise sounds terrific!
Only one clove of garlic? Throw in the whole thing!
garlic powder, or you can wrap the cloves in tin foil and bake for about 20 min, until theyre a soft, paste-like consistency and SWEET>

No, I mean something else. I used to love garlic but I don't like it right now, so I was wondering if you had a suggestion of another flavor substitute. Your tarragon, d'ya think? Or something else that would add a nice note? What about cayenne or white pepper instead of the garlic and black pepper? Any other ideas?
The cukes and yogurt sound fantastic.
What is EVOO?

Sounds like a version of tzatziki sauce, which I absolutely love. I'll definitely try it out!

Great idea.
Checking tzatziki recipes I find mint leaves, fresh parsley, red wine vinegar, cumin, white pepper and lemon juice as additional/alternative ingredients.
NOM - all those ingreds. sound great. I say use what you like. Chives, perhaps?? The cuke and dill are mostly the Eastern European/Greek version. Leave out the garlic if you wish.

Can you top a soup with capers? I wouldn't want to just toss them in after I rinsed them, as they would just fall to the bottom, but after you put the soup in the bowl, topping with a few capers sounds like fun.
Personally I might add a little French white bordeaux or Chilean sauvignon blanc instead of red wine vinegar. Maybe cider vinegar would be okay if vinegar works with a soup. What do you think?
I think celery would go with this very well, a leafy inside stalk popping out of the side of the soup bowl. A dish of sliced ripe tomato to the side...
Ah, you're quite the chef, NOM. But actually this recipe is supposed to be peasant - simplistically "simple". 3 ingreds. Garnish could be some kind of crouton or breadstick, and grape tomato - yes.

Mmm. Those garnishes sound good to me!
I do, however, count seven ingredients in your soup, not counting water.
