Posted: 1/22/08 at 1:29amUgh, the 1994 LITTLE WOMEN is awful even if Wynona Ryder makes for a great Jo. Until the musical arrived, this was the worst adaptation of the charming novel, IMO.

Posted: 1/22/08 at 4:37amI liked the Garland version of "A Star is Born" as opposed to the original. I also agree about "Imitation of Life"- I liked the Lana Turner version better. The original "Psycho" was the best version- that's a movie that shouldn't have been touched. Also, I'm not sure if it was a made for TV movie, but Lynn and Vanessa Redgrave starred in a remake of "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" It was terrible!!!!!

The Mummy, which took a tedious story about a zombie in bandages, and turned it into the greatest adventure film ever made

Posted: 1/22/08 at 11:18amYou can argue over the artistic merits, but the movies of the musicals of HAIRSPRAY and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, were certainly more commercially successful than the low-budget cult films on which they were based.

Why? Because I don't share the exact same taste in films as you?! What a strange comment! Did you see The Mummy? You didn't find it an engaging adventure film? Why not?
