Im auditioning for RENT in an upcoming local production. Im gonna go for Mark. I have been out of the musical theater world for four years, but im back at it. Im a tenor and need help picking a song
I was leaning towards either Damnit, Janet or Bitch of Living, but I need more suggestions.

You could always go for a non-musical theatre song. For Anthony Rapp's first audition for Rent, he sang the song Losing My Religion by REM. So I'd say feel free to consider your options there, but still look around at rock style musicals :)

Rent auditions usually state no musical theatre songs. Be sure to confirm the requirements before choosing material.
How about songs from tick tick boom or High Fidelity.
And the original Bway Renat requested no theatre songs. By the end of the the run they were hearing everything. Never heard of a local production that asked for no MT
