Kringas, I don't know if you're being facetious, but to answer your question -- no, he doesn't. Columbus's role in the commentary generally seemed to be to kiss his own ass along with the asses of the crew. As I said on the other thread, Rapp and Pascal were far more entertaining and it's a shame the commentary wasn't comprised of just them.

I totally agree.
This DVD has made me loathe Chris Columbus.
On the other hand, I found Adam and Anthony to be quite charming and very funny.

Thank you, siamese dream. I was mostly being facetious but I did indeed want an answer. And I'll get one someday!
SD, you only do equity actors?? thats a shame cuz you know once in a while there is a do worthy non eq actor..
Can I be l'il Reen?
I could've told you he was an utter tool after watching the documentaries on the Harry Potter DVDs. My 7 year old cousin could've made a better RENT movie than that visionless hack.

Does anyone remember that Sims "Tune Up" that was posted a while back? I liked that better than the movie.
JG - Yes, you may. L'il Reeny, if you're nasty.
YES!! that was hilarious
Kitzy, if this is how you really feel, it's not healthy. Why don't you stop by the mental health center and talk to someone?

I can't remember who made it, but he or she had a vision that Columbus did not.
LOVED the Sims tune up.
And I'm more tired than anything, JG2. Hence why I am soon going to bed.

Colleen_lee, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who felt that way. I try to be generally positive regarding the film considering all the negativity surrounding it, especially considering I did enjoy it quite a bit, but Columbus struck me as an egomaniac on the commentary. Perhaps I'm biased because I admire both Anthony and Adam a lot and wanted to hear more from them, but I especially loved how Chris's "only regret" was failing to use Well Hungarian posters (despite mentioning another "only regret" later in the commentary). I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and believe that comment was somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but did we gain any insight from him other than talk about the "beautiful lighting" and the long camera shots?!

Hah! No, my signature is a homage to a Rent fanfic written by a certain "streaminginsnow."

Where did Cookie go? And how did this conversation turn so serious?
Really, Columbus is just full of crap or seriously deluded. All this talk about being try to the stage version is just BS. When 70% of the music has been cut, I don't understand how true the movie can be.
Careful, this thread is almost turning serious!

Perish the thought! It'll destroy my rep for not taking anything seriously.

They were talking about how people were OUTRAGED (okay, so maybe just someone mentioned) wanting to hear more of my girlfriend's (Idina's) voice! Someone said, "Go see Wicked."
