The Rent/Wicked conspiracy?
as long as CC doesn't direct the movie for Wicked....
What?!?!?!?! Roger has Aids?? Since when?? I dont remember seeing that in the movie.. You're all a bunch of liars!
No, his ex-girlfriend and current girlfriend do. And he used to share dirty needles. They never SAY he has it. He only suffers from "Uncomfortable extreme close up at the end of the movie" virus.
Oh you mean the chick that died had aids?!?!?! **mind boggles**
they never say Mimi has aids either.. Only that she's gotten thin and she's running out of time.. Well I hate to break it to you fools but she was thin to begin with..
Roger would NEVER share dirty needles..
He only suffers from "Uncomfortable extreme close up at the end of the movie" virus.
that one right there is a killer!!
I'm just sayin...
Maybe I am wrong. She could have just died of "smack" use. Whatever that is. I think she was diabetic, too. She had a lot of needles.
Well I figured when he said he used to be a junkie he meant that he was one of those people that went to garage sales "junking".. I mean you know what they say one mans junk is another mans treasure.. It never crossed my mind that he would be the type to [beat] **whispers** do drugs.. I just can't believe such a horrible thing.. I refuse to believe it! And he was perfectly healthy in the movie.. Not even so much as a sneeze!!

Seriously, the three of them (two of them in particular, got really bitchy and touchy at the end of the commentary).
I do agree that a sequel will require Gilles nude. And the introduction of the character L'il Dini (played by an up and coming actor known as Kringas) will play his love interest. Mmmm, Gilles.
Seriously, on that documentary - they got Fredi and Daphne to talk, but with the exception of the producers referring to "those fifteen kids on stage," no mention was made of the other half the original cast!
I have yet to watch the comentary.. I will get around to it eventually..

Hmm I wonder which two that might be??
I guess Columbus forgets that Rent is an ensemble show..

It was really weird to hear Columbus talk about the stage show. When push came to shove, he didn't seem to know it or understand it nearly as well as he'd been claiming throughout the making of it.
Why is this so serious all of a sudden?!?!?
They say that I have the best ass below 14th Street. Kringas baby, is it true?

... What?
If that line was scripted by a typical BWWer, it would be "What??????????????????????????????????"
that's too bad.. You say that he doesnt seem to understand the show, when he had been going on and on about how much he loves it. The whole thing just makes me wonder what we would have gotten if someone who was truely as passionate as Columbus claims to be had made the movie. I am of course just guessing here as I have said I haven't seen the commentary.
*when did this thread turn all serious? **giggle**

Yeah, I was so when I finished the dvd. I really wanted this whole thing to play better at home, but it didn't. And the commentary didn't help, as it seemed to turn hostile toward anyone who didn't just accept the movie for what they did to it.
The documentary was pretty good, though.
And as I started this thread, I can be as serious or irreverent as I damn please. So there.
Gilles, if you're reading this, I'm really not a bitch. Love you!

Another odd thing - Columbus talked about deliberately cutting all the F-words from the bag lady's rant, because too many F-words would have made it an R. He went on about how hard that was. At other points on the commentary, he kept going on about he couldn't believe it didn't get an R.
How all this fits in with his talk (prior to the release) of not compromising the integrity of the show stumps me.
The man just talks out of both sides of his mouth.
Lenny Bruse!
Udda!!
I'm really not wanting to watch the commentary the more I hear about it.. I'm afraid I will be angry..
