Posted: 10/7/13 at 6:07pmMy school is doing RENT for our musical. I was wondering do you think Santa Fe from Newsies is OK for RENT? I know it's not rock or even remotely the style of the show, but both my voice teacher and I agree that it's the best song I have ever done. The director knows me well if that changes things at all, I'm just worried that it is too different from RENT. Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks!

Posted: 10/10/13 at 12:36pmI'd say it's okay. If you can sing it well then you are showing a good bit of vocal range and despite the fact it isn't pop, it is a solid comtemporary musical theatre song. Go for it.
