I am a massive theatre fan (obviously). I love acting as well as set design and at some point in my life I want to direct so I pretty much love every aspect of theatre.

I think (maybe?) you're interpretation of "now" is too general. When Herman uses the word, "now" I think he's being specific. I don't think he means a generi...

Jordan Catalano said: "Oh my. This was…not good. “La Cage” is truly one of the all-time great contributions to musical theater, so to see the show done like this, ultimately made me sad. There were more than a few moments we burst out laughing at some things that were just so jaw droppingly bizarre but this production misses basically every single mark. Billy forgot a line tonight and while trying to find it in his script he looked at the audience and yelled “Ten Days, Bitches!” and yes of co...

"La Cage" at City Center

I too found this very disappointing. This was my first time seeing the show and I went in very excited to see it but found myself feeling pretty detached. It sorta felt like a museum piece and almost too happy for the content of the story. I thought Wayne did a fine job but Billy was not it for me. I kept thinking to myself THIS is what beat Sunday in the Park with George???

I thought Zegler was phenomenal. It felt a bit random but she sounded great

Rank the 2026 Tony Performances

Jun 8, 2026 — 8:02:57 AM

The Chicago performance was the most impressive, it new what it was, it was polished, all sounded goodOf the new musicals I thought Two Strangers was the best tho I think they probably should have only done American Express. I was pleasantly surprised that BOM did Man up-my favorite song in the show. Lost Boys had a performance that was more exciting than I felt in the show which is good for them. Schmigadoon and Ragtime both did more or less what was expected of them and did it well but as s...

Great - I’m not looking forward to radio-ready, pop-lite musical theatre.Granted, I should have expected it considering P&P have a pre-existing relationship with Pink and her daughter from the Greatest Showman cover album"I mean I think their songs are generally quite good—there’s a reason why so many have hit—not all of them are the most interesting narratively but for a Tony opening it doesn’t need to be

SCHMIGADOON! Reviews

For me this is the rare musical where Act 2 is better than act 1. I think what act 1 needs is for Melissa to fully sing earlier. Sara Chase has such an amazing voice and her act 2 reprise is the best moment in the show. If she got an I want song I think the whole show would work better.

Loving You: The Untold Sondheim podcast

May 20, 2026 — 6:03:29 PM

I really have enjoyed this angle on Sondheims life. My main complaint being it feels a bit over produced (impressions, audio of “parties”, etc) that I think take away from the authenticity of the podcast

The show itself is bad and the cast did everything they could with the material, but it was a treat for my ADHD-riddled mind the way the book jumped back and forth.I’m still trying to figure out how everyone at the airline counter knew her song, though. She didn’t seem very famous at that point in the plot."Right! If you go in thinking it’s bad you can only be impressed and I was.

SUFFS Proshot Airing May 8 on PBS

May 11, 2026 — 7:36:37 PM

Watching this really reminded me how much I hate the set. It’s so bland and boring. While there’s a lot to like I think the tone is very uneven. Between goofy camp and drama and I don’t think the balance quite works. I also think the women playing men feels gimmicky and not quite justified. I get wanting the show to be all women but it just becomes a cartoon whenever a man is onstage

I PREDICT Lost Boys will win the Tony because it is by far the best show of the season. The only other viable option is Schmigadoon, which was also great, but The Lost Boys was at another level.I predict that RAGTIME ...
