I saw it tonight. I would vote for Two Strangers over Lost Boys.

It’s never boring but I think it struggles to land the tone. It feels like it wants campy humor and heart but this production wants to be pretty serious. I feel like I needed to fear for the main characters’ lives and I never felt any of them were in danger of being killed. The design is always interesting. I wish they lit the flying a bit brighter I get they’re trying to mask wires but I f

Alladin, Donica, Pinkins & More Complete ENCORES! THE WILD PARTY Cast
 Mar 20 2026, 08:28:29 AM

I saw it last night. I think it’s an enjoyable evening and very well conceived and directed. This was my first exposure to this version but I knew Lippa’s version. I think this story just doesn’t quite land for me. The characters all seem more like agents of chaos than people making choices. That said in this production I found myself following the ensemble in the background more than the leads.

I think it’s a shame thy couldn’t get it in this season. With how sparse the season is they could’ve been a front runner for best musical. I really liked it a Papermill and hope they made the right edits to get it to survive the winter

Key dated aspects include the caricature of the butler Ito, the intense focus on social class and "traditional" upbringing, outdated gender roles, and a rushed romantic subplot involving a Southern gentleman.

The unpaid intern issue has sunk them, with among other things that were out of their control. But I don't know if I would agree that their entire history was based on the exploitation of interns. It began more or less
