That's right, until recently, you thought PM stood for something sexual.
Yes. It's possible to block PMs, but still send them. I think if you block them, you shouldn't be able to send any.

When I first fixed my "settings" here after signing up, the default was set to block PMs. I had to go in and change it to allow them several months later when somebody asked my why mine were blocked. I didn't even know that they were. I didn't even know WHAT they were.
For people who don't know what they are (like me, when I first signed up), they might not necessarily know (or even WANT) to unblock them.
Of course the main page of BWW is set up a little differently now, and it's easier to see if you have a PM waiting for you now. My first one sat there for 3 months, because I didn't know how or where to look for it.
But before you get frustrated with someone relatively new to the boards, you might try explaining to them what they need to do first, in order to allow PMs.
And some people just don't want them at all. Something to think about.

Actually... it was from CRAIG. But I didn't even know he'd PM'd me. So the damn thing sat for 3 months, and by that time, I couldn't even remember what the hell we would have been talking about on a thread... so I just dumped it and ran.

Coleen---Come to think of it, it might not be the default. I probably blocked it myself by accident when I first went in and looked at my settings... because I didn't even know what the hell a PM was! I was SUCH a "newbie."
