God help me, I love this song.
I know.

Did you watch the Tyra Banks show today, Rath? Rhianna was on it.
No. I just love the song.
I was one of my main work-out songs. That was until I found my Gavin Creel and Hilary Duff CDa and bought the new J Lo one.
I got hooked into the Umbrella craze. I am downloading this now.
S.O.S. is such an old song... I feel like she's had three singles since then.
In fact, I know she has.
"Unfaithful", "Umbrella", and "Shut up and Drive".
The only song I can think of that she released in the US before S.O.S. was "'Pon de Replay".
The song came out around April/Marchish of last year. She's just a radio whore.
She's had a few singles since then though. "Unfaithful", "We Ride","Umbrella", "Shut Up and Drive", "Please Don't Stop The Music", and "Hate That I Love You" If I were her I'd stay away from ballads. . . forever.

FF, rath's always way behind the curve. Have you heard that new "She Loves You" by somebody called The Beatles? I don't know who he is but he has a great voice.
I think I may have heard that once or twice, Namo. What I can't figure out is why it was on an Oldies station. I mean, the guy has a bit of a throw-back sound, I guess...
I can't believe she's had three albums out already. She's 18!

Love Rihanna! My mother is also a big fan! Have all three of her albums.

She's 18 and some of her music is considered OLD?!?!?
I hate our 'culture' sometimes.
Well, most of the time.

I liked S.O.S. but was convinced that I hated Rihanna because Unfaithful makes me murderously angry. It turned out I just hate that song, because I like most of her most recent album.

The best part of "S.O.S." is the fact that it's sampled from "Tainted Love." I mean, it's the whole hook. So, when you say you love that song, you really love Soft Cell.

Tangent: Did you know that Soft Cell's version of "Tainted Love" was a cover? The original (which is far superior, in my opinion) was by Gloria Jones. I highly recommend checking it out if you're not familiar with it.
Sampled hook aside, it is one of the best and most meticulously crafted pop songs I've heard in years. And she sounds sooo sexy singing it.
I had no idea about that ~ff~. I'm gonna go check it out.
Oh, I never could get into SOS b/c all it did was make me want to hear Tainted Love.
Hi, yeah, I'm trying to find where I said it was a brand new song or that I was hearing it for the first time. Remove the sticks, guys.

Rath: I just wanted to give one of my favorite 80's songs its due. Don't be so sensitive.
~FF~: I didn't know that, either... But my favorite part of "Tainted Love" is the cool 80's synth arrangement, anyway. (But I'll still check it out!)
Erika,I think Rathy was referring to FF and Namo.
Hello end of junior year.
Rhianna performed Pon de Replay at Wicked day, I think two years ago? I love remembering how everyone could have cared less and were more interested in whether or not Megan Hilty had to blow her nose or shifted in her seat.
I like this song, it has a great beat. It gives me good memories too- my cousin, who I've never seen dance before, started dancing to this. It was hysterically funny.
Love it.
My friends and I have a dance to it (a tad less lame than it sounds)
Fantastic dance song.
