Richard Pryor Dead at 65

Marquise --- I JUST heard that myself. I'm very sad about it. I can't say I'm surprised, because he's been ill for quite a long time. But what a brilliant comic/actor!
He will not be forgotten. He was a true pioneer, in many ways.
He was an incredible inspiration to my cousin Lynne, who died of complications from Multiple Sclerosis.
only 65.....way too young. I loved Richard Pryor, be it s
Stand Up or a movie that he was doing. His influence on other comedians was immense, and he will be missed.

The fact that he could use the negatives in his life at the service of something positive...well...that's a gift....
this guy was incredible. get the concert films. he was a genius. we used to have to hide his albums from my mother and that in itself is a ringing endorsement of his relevance.
I'm bumping this because it needs far more attention. This man was a god. Without him you wouldn't have Eddie, Chris or Dave. Period. I spent the better part of the evening very upset over this and we all went out to the bar and did shots for Richard. Rest in peace man. I know you're knockin em dead in heaven where you'll look over all of us. Miss you man!
Such as huge loss, but I feel like a jerk because I already thought he was dead.
It's very sad. He's seriously hilarious. I recently watching a documentary that he appeared in and 30 years later, we were cracking up. His material is timeless. Forget all those new guys on HBO, he's truly the King of Comedy.
Silver Streak happens to be one of my favorite films and his supporting role in Lady Sings the Blues is memorable as well as The Toy and Stir Crazy.
For Carl Magnum, who thinks the rest of us don't care:
