Please explain how letting every right-wing whack job have his own gun guarantees "a well-regulated militia".

Last night, a commercial for the 11pm news said that the courts upheld the right to allow citizens guns for "personal protection." Yes, that's clearly the only use of guns. The countless innocent victims of gun violence in the district only died because they didn't shoot first.

Exactly Jon, they ignore and try to explain away the condition precedent of the right to bear arms. To take the two clauses as not dependent on the other is to ignore the four corners of the document and interpret what the framers meant.

It is OK to treat is as a malleable document when it suits their purposes, but for others, it is unthinkable.

Scalia has become a joke.

The more I think about this the more ridiculous it seems and the more I pray this country starts heading in the right direction once Obama has fixed things up (knock on wood). I don't know if I can deal with 4 more years of this nonsense.
