A good solid actor who never got more recognition than he should have
He pushed for Cosby on I Spy when the suits said no. After I Spy, Cosby's career took off but Culp's did not. that's show business.
It will be interesting what Cosby will have to say. A good talented actor has passed

"A good solid actor who never got more recognition than he should have"
Is that really what you wanted to say?
That's some tribute.

It must be nice to be perfect
If I want nitpicking, I can listen to my boss.
Just A Guy, at least I posted a tribute. Yours must have gotten misplaced as I don't see it.

No Roxy, my tribute wasn't misplaced. I felt no need to post one.
But, if I had...I would have made sure that it indeed was a tribute.

I really enjoyed his work as 'Waiter' in "Get Smart" in 1968

This man is almost the definition of a working actor! Look at his IMDB listing - he appeared on what seems like every TV show through the 50's - 70's, and that's not all there is. Over 50 years of consistant work, up to and including his final project, which is listed as in post-production.
And he got to do something that was a 'marker' in the history of the genre ("I Spy".)
The description of his death makes it seem quick and relatively painless - I hope it was, for his sake.

I gasped when I saw this in The Times this morning...so sad. I loved I Spy. He and Cosby made a great team.
RIP
