No, I'm not a fan of Twilight or a screaming teenage girl (okay, boy - close enough) but he is too cute to pass up *drools* Am I alone on this?

Don't like either of them. Jacob (Taylor) has a nice body but an ugly face, IMO. Of course I'm 44. So I could be their mom.
Sure, he has abs. But...really? He seems dull. And his face...ugh!

Rob Pattinson seems like he would smell. I think I'm totally okay with that.
I have this crazy fascination with RPattz. Like, he's said before that he doesn't like Twilight and that doing the series has basically ruined his life, and he's the closest thing to an old-school tortured teen idol as we have in 2010, and I would just like to sit down with him and pick his brain for like six hours.
Also, I don't care what anyone says, I think he's kind of cute. It's the gravity-defying hair, I think.
VonTussleGirl, I completely agree. I love how he is such a COMPLETELY WEIRD PERSON that the media desperately tries to sell as a normal heartthrob. And I love how he lives on hot pockets and booze and has terrible hygiene, yet ends up on magazine covers.
That said, he's laughably, utterly terrible in Twilight, and I've never seen him in anything else except Harry Potter and this weird little German movie called "Die Nibelungen," where his voice was dubbed by some super-posh dude with a high-pitched voice. So I can't say anything for his "talent."
^^ I agree with both of you. I like him, but I also think he is an odd teen idol. He doesn't have that boyish cuteness like so many of the cover boys do. He has a dirty, kinda awkward, scruffy vibe/look and his "I don't care" attitude makes him even more intriguing.
I had a borderline obsession with his hair. It was the only feature I liked about his Edward Cullen (the terrible contact lenses, the voice, the paleness, ick!). I have come to the conclusion he is kind of terrible on purpose and basically gave up half-way through the first film. Kristin Stewart came around to just wing it and Ashley Greene as Alice is enjoyable in a campy kind of way. The rest of the film is just terrible and is redeemable with its soundtracks.
As far as atypical heartthrobs go, it is not like grungy-looking men sold as boys next door is not typical. James Dean is memorialized with photos of him looking like an insomniac with raccoon eyes while smoking and looking incredibly unkempt. So I agree with VonTussleGirl, RPattz is actually more old school than he is given credit for. With that said, I hope he is in much better things but I heard he was good in a film called How To Be that looks really off-beat.
I really don't mind Lautner's face. Nick Jonas is more of a butterface to me.
It's the acting and the idea he is a tough, no-nonsense werewolf that I find most grating with Lautner.
