A really wonderful character actor has died. Many excellent performances were given by this fine actor.

I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Prosky on the stage here in the DC area many times. He was as good as they come. RIP Mr. P.
He was in a Mamet film called Things Change with Don Ameche and Joe Mantegna. I really like that movie and all three men's performances.
He was also in a filming of the stage play A Walk in the Woods with Sam Wasterston. They were both excellent.
"Let's do it to them before they do it to us!"
Always a talented performer.

YEAH! "Things Change" had Robert Prosky as a mafia Don. That was Don Ameche's last performance. He died later. Joe M. was great as a gangster, who was supposed to watch over Don A. But he was also sent to kill him. Joe M. has gone for comedy parts lately. He is much better as a cussin' heavy though.
Robert Prosky played the TV news head in "Broadcast News," which would have been a good movie had it stuck to one theme. It would hae been another "Network,' one of the greatest movies of all time. Wish I'd written that! RP was also in Thief (1981). a typical brutal David Mamet movie, where he played a mob boss.
Awwwwww.
He was wonderful.
My favorite play he was in was "A Walk in the Park" with Sam Waterston. They both gave amazing performances.

He was a fine actor. I checked IBDB to see what he'd been in and they have him dead already. Up to date as always.
Rest In Peace.
This time of year is depressing---I thought he was a wonderful actor!
loved him in thief. just effin' brutal.
I was a spear carrier in a show he starred in in DC. He was luminous, giving on stage, generous off, and always a gentleman. There are few class acts as memorable.
