I think BWW should start our own list of the 100 Greatest Singers of all time.

When I first started reading it, I assumed they were narrowing the list to the general field of the magainze, rock -- "rock" in the generic, post Holly catch-all sense. But no, there are influential folk from jazz, country and pop. So that makes it so baffling. It's just strange to have so many powerhouse influences missing. And again, Christine Aguilera? I'm sorry.

I never knew there were 93 people who sang better than Karen Carpenter until I read that list! Bob Dylan singers better than Karen Carpenter. Imagine that!

I also thought since it was Rolling Stone that it was just rock music, but there are country music people on the list like Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline.

And to put Bjork in the Top 100 is ridiculous. If people like Ella Fitzgerald ever sang a sour note, it would still sound better than anything Bjork has ever sang.

Judy Garland in her later years, when her voice was shot, could still put a song across better than at least 10 people on this list could do in their prime. Garland knew how to direct a song to the audience rather than at the audience.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
