People who believe we're immoral and going to hell and going to be the downfall of this country and their traditions don't stand to gain anything real by changing our minds. What's one less queer? We do stand to gain a lot with each and every mind changed on their end. Like it or not, we're the ones that have to do the convincing. I, personally, think we have to be the bigger people. When someone throws around comments about share croppers and eating possum, someone, somewhere is going to see that and say, "See? Hateful, awful people!" I don't think we need to show this woman respect, but I think our responses need to be respectful. I am not sure that makes sense.

It makes perfect sense, Amber, and I agree with you completely.
And I also agree that the Leslie Uggams clip is one of the funniest things I've ever seen! And you have to hand it to her - she just plows through without a flicker of embarrassment, like the pro she is.

Well said JG2. I find it funny when people post responses like that and then find it shocking when they learn the majority of black voters voted to support Proposition 8.

This is my favorite post of the day:
