I didn't think it was funny. Her material was essentially the same and she seemed to lack confidence/style. My friends and I concluded that she sounded more like she was venting rather than performing.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?
She has sung on some children's albums, she’s definitely improved. I wish she had worked on the jokes and delivery more. I love the Katrina ethnic cleansing thing.
I was SO excited to see this and so disappointed once I had...I agree that she lacked the confidence and used old material. I think it's just been too long since she's done stand-up and she needs practice.
I saw Rosie a few months ago here in San Francisco - and her new material that she was trying out was really not funny as much as offensive. And this is San Francisco - so I don't know what went wrong. She did however realize that it was not working out and then she clicked back into just being herself and the show was fantastic. She did this bit about taking questions from the audience - playing a "psychic" and I got to ask the last question. I stood up and asked if she saw California's Governor Arnold being succeeded by Tom Arnold - it literally stopped her show. People went nuts and she was speechless. It was hysterical! She then did a tap dance (yes - tap dance) and shuffled herself off stage. Afterward I got to meet her and she signed my 1st season DVD set of Rosanne. She was very gracious - which I hear she is not accustomed to being.
