Okay...here goes.
One time I was on the date and saw the Italian Job. We were sitting in the back row of the movie theater and were bored the first few minutes into the movie. So we proceeded to talk throughout the movie...not in a normal tone, but in mid- to loud whispers. We didn't even watch the movie. At the end of the movie, some lady came up to us and said, "You know, thank you for talking through the whole movie."

Posted: 7/9/06 at 10:45amI've commented on more than one occassion in the movies and theater to people to be quiet...of course they don't appreciate it and always comment back, but of course I don't care. You have to respect others around you..even if you're bored by what you're watching. My feeling is..you're bored or don't like it....leave !!!! It's because of these people I hate going to the movies..I don't really like being confrontational, but I won't just sit there and let them ruin something I paid good money to see. I've left shows during intermission that I wasn't happy with....didn't ruin it for those who were enjoying it.

I can be bad when a show is bad. I saw The Producers in London last week and it was AWFUL. I was sitting with some of the girls from our tour group, and we're all theatre kids so we were whispering about it... but honestly, it was terrible. The guy playing Leo couldn't sing... and that was just the start.
And I saw a production of the play The Little Mermaid about a month ago at a community theatre that was quite possibly the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. I was sitting with my best friend and we were stifling laughter throughout the whole thing - as in, we practically had our hands in our mouths to stop us from laughing.

Alright, here goes...
Back when I saw Thoroughly Modern Millie a few years back, I had one of those Baby Bottle Pops with me in the theatre (Scream if you will) and I was eating it during the second act. However, I dropped the bottle somehow, letting out a lot of that powdery stuff on the floor. I whispered, "Sh*t," salvaged the bottle, and ate the rest. I regret that time to this day. I have also whispered a few comments during shows, and I even requested for a bag of Gushers at TMM.
I should be charged with a crime for all of the above, shouldn't I?

I have been known to talk through movie previews. But only if it's a continuing conversation. I do my best to shut up as fast as I can.
The 2002 national Thespian conference was new heights in audience rudeness. My group was pretty bad sometimes, to the point that I was embarassed to be associated with them. However, the last show of the trip, a middle/high school production of "Blood Brothers," was my limit. It was so inept, you couldn't help but laugh. You know how in the first act, they boys are supposed to be about 8 but are played by adults? Well, one of them reminded us so much of Stewart from "Mad TV" that it was all we could do not to scream with laughter. The guy next to me actually had his fist stuffed in his mouth, tears streaming down his face, he was trying so hard to keep a lid on it.
We begged to leave at intermission, but our sponsor said that would be rude and, even though he hated the show as much as us, insisted that we remain polite and not say anything until we were on the way home. Well, late in the second act, when the twins are in the middle of the police confrontation, one of the officers said (in a terrible Cockney accent) "Jaysus Chroist!" and our sponsor literally burst out laughing! We all gave him grief for that.
The rest of the audience hated it too. When the lights were going down for the second act, a lot of people protested. They had to bring the lights back up for a minute. It was the single worst production I have ever seen.

Posted: 7/16/06 at 10:45pmThis happened almost 3 years ago so I was fairly young, but it was still rude. I was at The Lord of the Rings and I didn't want to be there so my friend and I made comments during the movie and the whole time we were hysterically laughing. People shushed us several times. I felt bad afterwards.

Actually, I am completely innocent as well- I never talk in movies or theatre. However, I think I tend to be a little on the oppressive side. I give my friends looks if they talk and I won't look at them during a movie, dare I encourage conversation. I also give dirty looks to people behind me if they talk at all and if they talk more than once I turn around and ask them either be quiet or move. It's really hard to go to movie theatre these days for me, as it really seems to be the norm to chat away.
I also feel bad but I told a girl who was singing through the RENT movie to shut up. I told her " I paid to hear them sing (gesturing to the screen) not you. Please be quiet or I'll have you removed." She was a teen RENT-head and I think I hurt her feelings, but I really didn't care. It's so rude to talk during films and theatre.
