There are many fallacies in that joke image, including the misrepresentation of population density and personal opinion. there's no such thing as a state color. In most cases, you couldn't even shade in a street.

Much like that county-by-county map that Sean Hannity kept showing after the election -- which pretended like Bush's support was so overwhelming because all these big counties in Wyoming and Idaho that had, like, three people living in them went for Bush while denser areas like Manhattan went for Kerry.
