no, it's just rush doing what he does: creating headlines and spurring controversy. the more people are talking about him, the more people tune in to hear what crazy sh*t he'll say next. up go the ratings and up goes his check.
wanna know how to stop rush? ignore him. when the media stops paying attention to him, he'll have to go too far to try to get their attention again and finally get booted off the air when he does.
but it'll never happen because the people who despise rush will never ever do it. hence, his controversial comments will get reported by on and denounced by the left who will demand the media pay attention to him. by doing so they up his street cred with the zealots on the right. he won't say anything that is actionable by the fcc, so it'll be a tempest in a teapot, but it'll keep him in the news and the cycle will continue.
