I know very little Russian (Da, Nyet, etc), but when I was 4-5, my family spent four months in Russia because my mom was teaching Yiddish in Moscow, so we spent four months in Moscow and went to St. Petersburg and Dolina and Chernowitz, and stuff. It was cool.

Ni pukha, ni pyera (Neither down, nor feather)

In response, say "K Chyortu" ((Go) to the devil!)

Oh, it isn't wrong, or anything.

Ni pukha... is more like "Break a leg"

This is all fabulous. Ilya, the Russian dancer in the show I'm in, is going to do the BIGGEST double take when I casually throw some of this into the conversation.

As long as I don't invite him for feather ice cream at Winter Palace when I'm trying to say good morning...

Ðóññêèé ßçûê

lol, yeah, don't confuse the words...

And just to clarify, pukha means down as in a "down coat" or feathers, to be simple. Not down like the opposite of up...
