I read about somewhere a few weeks ago as well.

Cattrall's rep confirms to Star that the studio has approached Kim and she has expressed interest in the film, but the film, for now, is not official.

Maybe they should get Barbra Streisand to play Carrie's mother.

Oh I'm so excited for this!!!
Fabrizio- Thanks for that new link. That is a whole different story.
GAH! I hope this really happens!
I'll believe it when I see it
I remember after the first failed attempt at this, People had a little mini-interview with SJP and she said the movie involved "Two weddings. Two weddings and no funerals." That might be a little paraphrased.
Sounds exciting, I can't wait!
I watched the show for the first time last night and I really liked it. (Surprise!)

I LOVE this!! One of my favorite shows.
I can't wait for the movie!
No thanks.
I really didn't enjoy the show, but I didn't watch every episode. I was too busy in high school to watch TV.
And SJP does nothing for me. Paint her green. Add a pointy hat and broom. Then you've got the next Wicked Witch of the West.
Hope they use my friend Lynn Cohen as Magda. She is the best!!!

Loved Magda.
But do you think the level of interest (among the public) is still there? The show ended, what, two years ago?
Lynn is one of the nicest women in this business. I love her. I hope she has a part in the film. She is a doll.

Fiction Writer, go back to outside and play, the adults are talking now.
IF this was to happen they'd hafta be giving Ms Catrall beaucoup de $$$$ PLUS star billing NOT co star. It all depends on how much $$$ is available. Personally I think maybe a MOW but certainly not a cinematic release.
i adore the show and can't wait for this supposed movie, but i definitely don't watch it for SJP. i think she looks about 10 years older than she actually is and, even if she doesn't smoke, she looks like she does. she sounds young, and is a decent actress at best, but it's the four of them together that make that show.
and is there any word against the possibility of the movie NOT continuing where the show left off and perhaps being a comprehensive film of the entire series in a matter of hours? that sounds like a modern film strategy to me.
i really hope this turns out good. its such a good show.
I like the series, but I'm skeptical about how good the movie would be, and have major questions about how the movie would be constructed, just like others have brought up...is it just going to be 2 hours from where the series left off? hmmmmm...
