Last year when I posted about my new grand-niece Sam and her health problems, I got a response from folks here that would warm the coldest heart. Many of you have asked how Sam is doing now so I thought I'd post a few pictures from her first birthday party last month.
Sam is doing great. She still has surgery in her future but the condition that made her so sick is now controllable with medication until she's old enough for the operation. In the meantime, you can see she's a very happy little girl who's obviously smart enough to know exactly what to do with a first birthday cake!

What a cutie! So glad to hear she's doing so well. Happy belated to her!
ETA: And she's obviously a smart one, too!
