At the Yankee at the end of the sixth, they always have birthday greetings, and happy anniversaries announcements. Then they'll have a guy proposing to a girl and every one will yell "Noooo!" kidding around.
Last night at the Yankees game after the birthdays, on the scoreboard, a fellow asked a guy named Ethan, "Will you marry me?"
There was no reaction from the crowd, and I thought "that's the first time that I've seen a same sex proposal at Y.S." A lot of Yankee fans come down from Connecticut so I guess it was going to happen.
Good for them! And good for the Yankees to show it!
That's awesome! And prob how I should have proposed to my guy--who loves the Yankees.
Aww that is so cute.

I think it's great the Yankees are trying to catch up to the Red Sox on the Cool with Queers front, after all, Boston did an episode of Queer Eye years ago.
I'm so happy for Derek and Alex!
Yes! Calvin, as usual, WINS!!
so glad there wasn't a bunch of rude behavior from people. Not that I acspect it, but...It makes me feel a bit better about society.
And congrats. to the happy couple!

BwayTday I am assuming you mean "expected" it.
And I am going to say I completly expected rude behavior.
I have been to a bunch of games in Yankee stadium (old and new)
and I KNOW the crowd can just be d**ks sometimes to gay people.
I remember I was at a oakland A vs Yankee game and this gay guy was walking to his seat with his boyfriend (they were holding hands; im assuming) and the crowd completly went crazy on them.
Taunting the couple and calling them fags. One guy even through his soda right at the couple.
I was completly disgusted by that and anyone who can act that ignorant towards homosexuals is just to stupid to deal with what they dont understand.
I would hope in this day and age people would be more accepting but its sad that we are not exactly where we want to be yet.

That's so sweet! It's great that the crowd was polite to this couple as well.
