Has anyone seen this movie? How does it compare to the book? I know it's set mostly in France, seems to have many French actors, and has a parenthetical Frech title. Is it subtitled? I really enjoyed the book, but I'll have to go pretty far out of my way to see the movie. Thanks.

I never read the book so can't compare, but really liked the movie. Thomas owns the movie and it's worth it to see her restrained and well-thought performance.

The movie is about 3/4 in French and 1/4 in English, with the French portions subtitled.

It was nice to see on the big screen, but if you're going to have to trek too far to catch it just wait for the dvd.

Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco. Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!

Agree with Whizzer. Thomas rocks, but the movie is oddly flat.

Even if it does play near you I'd still wait for the dvd.
