Save my login info, dammit!
#0Save my login info, dammit!
Posted: 8/23/04 at 11:22pmOK, whenever I login to BWW, I always check off "save my login info". And usually, it does. But every so often, it doesn't remember me, and I have to login again! What ever happened to cookies? Rob, Craig, anyone?

Posted: 8/23/04 at 11:32pmI never had a problem. Then once I forgot my password and it never let me forget it... haha.

Posted: 8/23/04 at 11:41pmLogout probably happens after you've been idle for a little while. It helps save strain on the BWW servers, probably. And the reason our login info isn't being saved is probably because this site doesn't have a very good cookie and our browsers' security settings are rejecting it.

Posted: 8/23/04 at 11:41pmI have no problem with it. But sometimes when i want to log off BWW...it wont let me. oh well.

Posted: 8/24/04 at 12:06pmThis problem just surfaced for me. I thought it was some sort of Windows XP Ashcroftian feature. Glad to know it's happening to others. I appreciate the fact that BW.com may be glutted with our ego-defining presences, and needs to let some of us go sometimes just to save cybo-energy.

Posted: 8/24/04 at 12:07pmIt's definitely happening to me. I just gave up and typed all my info in every time the page appeared. I thought that it was a cookie problem- but I guess not.

Posted: 8/24/04 at 12:12pmSometimes it happens to me when I am not idle! For example, if I finally decide to respond to a post, it signs me out and I have to sign in again. Why is there a "save my login" feature if it doesn't work?

Posted: 8/24/04 at 12:14pm99.9% of this is related to your browser and not the site.

I never used to have this problem but over the past month or two it always does it and I have to log in EVERY time I get back on the internet.

Posted: 8/24/04 at 12:24pmCkeaton- if other sites can keep me logged in, this one should be able to as well. It's not a big deal, but cookie-fixing might be called for if this is a widespread problem.

Posted: 8/24/04 at 1:33pmThe problem just started for me as well. I used to be able to be logged into broadwayworld whenever I signed on.... now I'm lucky if I'm still logged in when I sign on.

Posted: 8/24/04 at 2:01pmIf you ever delete your temporary internet files, it will not remember your login info next time you visit. Maybe that is the problem.

Posted: 8/24/04 at 2:24pmI know that. I'm talking about all in the course of about half an hour. I'm here and logged in one minute.... then I go look at another page, I come back and I'm logged out.

Posted: 8/24/04 at 3:28pmCheck your security settings- if you have them on high, it's probably for the best, but you have to pay with inconveniences like being logged out of here.
#18re: Save my login info, dammit!
Posted: 8/24/04 at 3:34pmI thought it was only happening to me!

Posted: 8/24/04 at 4:28pmThanks for the security setting thing. Maybe it's part of a new crackdown on Windows XP. How many people are using these later versions of Windows, and keep doing the updates that scream at us in those white pop-ups? Is that it? Is that it?
